Cafwin Cruises is a company with a difference. Named by the Telegraph as the UK’s No One Eco-friendly Narrowboat company, you won’t find any battered, drab, dark, uncomfortable, diesel and oil fumed barges here.  Instead cruising with Cafwin on her 5* rated electric-hybrid narrowboats will be akin to walking into immaculate and quaint boutique hotels.

Cafwin Cruises really understands the needs of the modern-day boater and Ollie Owl was our first electric-hybrid narrowboat, built by the renown Ortomarine who specialise in electric propulsion.  Ollie Owl features all-electric propulsion for near-silent cruising, combined with an efficient onboard generator, plus 1.6kW of solar power to enable recharging of the high capacity battery bank, without the need to connect to shore power.  To our knowledge, Ollie Owl was the first Serial Electric Hybrid Narrowboat available for hire on the English canal network and he has been exceptionally popular with our eco-friendly guests.  Keen to evolve as an eco-friendly a company as possible, for 2025 we have upgraded our first “born”, Arthur Owl, who was bespoke built to a  level rarely, if ever, found in hire boats, truly reflecting contemporary and luxurious comfort on the water.  His conversion to an electric-hybrid includes a full external repaint, making him ever smarter and now more eco-friendly than ever before.
